YOUR QUESTIONS

Why book a holiday with Walking Holidays In Spain rather than organise it myself?

Arranging a holiday in a foreign country can be difficult. Firstly, finding accommodation with a good reputation in the right area is not easy. Public transport here is good in places, but in
remote areas is non-existent. Maps showing a variety of walks are available, but are very
unclear, out of date and in Spanish!

We provide guided walks which we feel is the safest way to walk around. The majority of the trails are very remote and it is not unusual to be the only group on a route. We organise all
your transportation, accommodation and provide you with fantastic guided walks without complicated maps.

What is included?

* A professional lead on every guided walk

* Transportation to and from your guided walk/accommodation each day

* Breakfast in hotel or welcome pack in villa

* Lunch and a bottle of water on each guided walking day

* Entrance fee where applicable

* Any advice we can give

What is not included in the price?

* Evening meal

* Lunch on non-walking days

* The cost of travel before arriving in Spain (ie: flights, taxi)

* Travel insurance and personal injury insurance (see Terms & Conditions)

* Clothing

* Theme nights

What do I need to bring?

* Strong comfortable walking boots with good ankle support.  Footwear is key.  Most walks do have a defined path, but are often rugged so walking boots are recommended for all our walks.

* Hat and sun cream

* A fleece or jumper (for those occasional cooler days)

* Backpack

* Travel Insurance

Can we buy water on the trails?

A litre bottle of water is provided by us at the beginning of each walk, however, you must drink little and often and if you feel a litre is not sufficient, it is important that you purchase more the
night before the walk.

How is my advance payment protected?

We are fully compliant with the 1992 EC Package Travel Directive which protects your money. We hold all monies, including deposits in trust pending completion of your holiday.

Do I have to change accommodation during my week?

No. We believe that staying in one location throughout your holiday enables you to get the best
from your holiday. It allows you to unpack, settle in and enjoy your surroundings.

I am not really fit, can I still book with you?

Our walks are divided into 3 levels to suit different levels of ability. Comfortable being the easiest and Energetic the hardest. There are a few steep climbs on most (but not all) of the trails, but there are plenty of rest periods during the day.

Can children come on the trails?

Yes, but we suggest Comfortable or Moderate holidays only, due to the distance and difficulty of level. It is important to note that transport, unless due to injury, is not available until the end of the walk. We would not accept a booking which included a child under the age of 10 years of age.

How long do I have to spend travelling to my daily walk?

Our walks are with a maximum travelling time of 45 minutes by car. We are aware that our
clients are unhappy about lengthy transportation times and therefore provide an itinerary to
suit these requirements.

What is a typical walking day?

You will be collected from your accommodation and taken to your trail. Departure time from
the accommodation is dependant on the time of year.

During your walk, a pace is set by the group. You will be able to take plenty of breaks, enjoy
the views, take photographs and stop for lunch.

At the end of your walk you will be transported back to your accommodation, where you can enjoy the local town with its many cafes, bars and restaurants.

What happens if I have an accident?

Your safety is paramount. Our guides are trained in first aid and carry mobile telephones and radios with them at all times. They will be able to contact medical or rescue services when required. It is a condition of booking that you are adequately insured and you will be requested to send us details of your policy when confirming your booking.
(An appropriate holiday insurance must include accident cover).
We also advise you to carry a current European Health Insurance Card which is available at your local Post Office and is recognised here in Spain. Please see our Terms & Conditions.

What languages are spoken?

Our guided tours are held in English, however our guides speak English and Spanish.

What if I do not want to walk on the day?

Should you, or any member of your group, not wish to walk on any particular day, this is not a problem. However, please let your guide know in advance.

What if we book as a group, do we get discount?

Yes, for a group booking of 5 persons or more, we will offer the next place free of charge.
(To clarify- book 5 places, receive the 6th free etc.)

Can you tailor make my itinerary?

Yes, we will discuss specific requirements, bearing in mind the group's profile.
